Description
Levi Bell, Sarahsville, Noble County, Ohio, 2nd half-19th century, poplar. Table-top box with one drawer. 9.5" high, 11.25" wide, 11.5" deep. According to Mrs. Brown’s notes, this box was used as a deed box by her great-grandfather Levi Bell. Bell (1843-1929) lived most of his life in Noble County. As he was listed as a carpenter in the 1870 census, he likely made this box as well. Provenance: the collection of the late Jo Louise Brown, Zoar, Ohio. In-house shipping is available for this lot.
